Our asphalt carpark was steaming with the hot synth beats of our first MOFO sessions act last week. This Saturday will be no different with the second of our MOFO Harvest Market Hoedowns featuring two live acts. Father-daughter duo ‘Grace + Ian Chia’ bring a dynamic mix of acoustic folk and electronic trap-pop, while ‘Cotton Pony’ deliver toe-tap-twangin’ Americano and honeyed harmonies. A perfect accompaniment to your Saturday morning Harvest breakfast.
This week we welcome new stallholder Artisa to the Market, offering vegan friendly plant based cheeses. Made on a cashew nut base and cultured with non-dairy probiotics, they are lactose and gluten free. Artisa cheese features locally sourced ingredients to add that uniquely Tasmanian flavour, such as the pepperberry dusted ‘Kunanyi’, ‘Ben Lomond’ layered with vine ash, and the ‘Tarkine Log’ with Tasmanian cherries and hazelnuts.
We are also excited to welcome The Tassie Hemp Shop, a new weekly stallholder at Harvest. Selling dehulled hemp seed direct from the family farm in Sheffield. Hemp seeds are said to have a rich nutritional profile – a great source of protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fats. Throw them in your bliss balls, smoothies, or muffins for a healthy snack on the run. Or how about a hemp seed and basil pesto for a delicious and nutritious pasta sauce. Basil is back at Thirlstane Gardens this week!
This weekend we feature The Tassie Hemp Shop on our ‘Harvest Farmers’ Market Launceston’ live Facebook interview. Yes that’s right! Each week we interview one of our Harvest stallholders, giving you a little insight into the lives of our wonderful farmers, bakers, brewers, local artisans, and their labours of love. And if you don’t have Facebook, why not subscribe to our ‘Harvest Farmers’ Market Launceston’ Youtube Channel where you can catch all of the interviews in your own time.
See you at the market.
