Harvest Launceston have just wrapped up another very successful Plastic Free July, having hosted Plastic Free Launceston for the entire month educating patrons on various methods to reduce their use of single-use plastic in everyday life. Beyond July, Harvest continues its environmental crusade, with our stallholders offering plastic-free packaging and bag alternatives and our Food Organic Garden Organic (FOGO) bin system diverting 98% of our waste to compost all year round.
This week at Harvest, we welcome back The Village Olive Grove with their delicious range of full-flavoured extra virgin olive oil direct from the Tamar Valley. Their Tuscan variety of fruit – Frantoio – delivers a buttery, high flavour oil packed full of antioxidants. A product that not only tastes great but delivers significant health benefits too!
George Town Seafoods will be back with their fresh haul of seafood direct from their boat – ‘The Silent Victory’ – and from various seafood farms across Tasmania. With scallops in their prime at the moment, why not come down and grab a bag full of these succulent pearly-orange delights? Gently seared with a simple topping of velvety butter from Southern Sky Cheese Company and a squeeze of fresh lemon, they are a perfect starter for a long Sunday lunch.
As usual, Manubread, Apiece and Sandy’s Sourdough will have their golden artisan breads and sweet baked treats with aromas so good they are hard to walk past without taking something home. But don’t delay as they are often a sell out.
See you at the market!
