HARVEST MARKET 14th Dec – THIS WEEK

This week at Harvest it’s raining berries with Westerway Raspberry Farm, Bioberries and Sheffield Berry Gardens bringing an assortment of plump strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and gooseberries. And word on the street is that cherries are back!! The long wait for these ruby red bunches of sweet delights is over and a sure sign that Christmas is here! With our full complement of producers soon in house – Ferniehust Cherries, Richmond Cherries, Pip’s Cherries and Rowella Cherry Farm – there will be plenty to go around.

Have you got your Christmas ham yet? No festive lunch is complete without one. Guy from Mount Gnomon Farm will have his rare breed free range bone-in or boneless hams available this weekend for purchase or order. Buy a half or full leg and be confident you’ll have plenty to feed your family plus those unexpected lunch guests! Smoked with oak, Guy’s hams are perfect for eating fresh or glazed.

Have you heard Seven Sheds Brewery’s ‘Platypus 400’ is back?! Willie crafted this beer one year ago as a milestone to celebrate his Brewery’s 400th batch of beer, but it proved so popular with customers that he’s brought it back in time for Christmas! Like its name-sake, this dark brown brew is a quirky beast, infused with toasted hemp seeds and buckwheat. A mysterious, complex beer with bags of flavour.

For forkin’ tasty meat and charcuterie this Christmas, don’t go past Fork It Farm’s selection of ethically raised, artisan products. And you won’t be able to resist their tiny but nutritionally power-packed quail eggs, a perfect bite size addition to your next salad, soup or appetiser.

This week we are excited to welcome some new stallholders to the Harvest family. Michael from Felds Farm in Lilydale will be joining us weekly with a range of fresh vegetables grown using regenerative farming practices and an emphasis on producing nutrient-dense, nourishing food.

Roslyn 1823 is the new girl on the block – a single vineyard wine made from grapes grown and hand-picked on a family-owned single estate in the Coal River Valley. Take her home this weekend with a beautiful bottle of riesling, chardonnay, pinot gris or pinot noir.

Rock Hill Estate are a new fruit and vegetable producer from the Derwent Valley, joining Harvest for the next few months and bringing a quality selection of farm fresh potatoes, peas, garlic, beans and raspberries.

Avoid the rush and start your Christmas shopping at Harvest this weekend…and don’t forget to bring an extra bag!
