This week at the Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market we are celebrating our amazing producers as well as being back on our home ground. First up, thank you to all of you who came down last week to support our local producers and helped to ensure a safe market place for the community to enjoy.
The Tasmanian State winners of the delicious. produce awards recognised our outstanding producers. The awards “unearth and champion Australia’s best and most innovative primary produce and producers with an emphasis on provenance, seasonality and sustainable production methods”.
From the dairy winners are Elgaar Farm for their organic fresh cream. Harvest is also very excited to welcome back Red Cow Organics who have received the award for their Persian feta. Red Cow Organics’ first market back is 20th June 2020.
From the earth, Michael and Lauren from Felds Farm have been recognised for their wonderful vegetables and Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes celebrated for their heirloom tomatoes.
From the pasture winner is Fork It Farm for their pasture raised Berkshire pork.
We are also celebrating our women in agriculture and Plants Direct’s Karen Brock took out the Tasmanian Agrifutures Rural Women’s 2020 Award.

This week at Harvest we have Strelleyfield Farm with their duck, KimChiMe bring a variety of pickled vegetables for their monthly visit. Do not forget to stock up on your coffee beans from Ritual and grab a tub of your favourite gelato flavour from Della Valle Gelato. - Bring your own bags
- Use cashless payments
- Keep your social distance
- Sanitise your hands before entering
- No self service – you touch it you buy it
- Where possible choose one family member to come down and do the shopping
- Help out a neighbour or friend who might not be able to get to Harvest
