The Campbell family settled in the beautiful Tamar Valley and set up their apiary with the aim of offering customers a unique experience within the delicious and fascinating world of honey and honeybees. Not only can you taste unique pure varieties of honey, but you can also learn about how the bees make the honey as you watch them in Honey Tasmania’s display hive!
During the year, Tristan moves hives to the rich flowering areas of northern Tasmania, where the bees gather nectar from leatherwood, manuka, blackberry, and prickly box to name just a few. The hives of Honey Tasmania can be found in Pyengana in the northeast, Hellyer Gorge in the north, Corinna in the west, and more locally in Winkleigh and Swan Bay.
For thousands of years, mankind has known of the health benefits of honey. Tristan and Rebecca have the knowledge and experience to share with you the medicinal qualities of honey, especially Manuka honey. Not only can honey cure a cold, heal a wound, sooth a stomach, give an instant energy boost, and is 100% fat-free, but it may also play a role in the prevention of cancer as well as heart disease!
Honey Tasmania is dedicated to supporting the area’s local farmers and producers. Being part of the Harvest Farmer’s Market in Launceston allows us share our high quality produce alongside others who believe in maintaining environmentally friendly and sustainable methods of farming, as well as providing us the opportunity to interact with the community on a personal level.
