As if the last few weeks haven’t been crazy enough, moving an entire Farmers’ Market online, this weekend we have teamed up with the Tamar Bicycle Users Group (TBUG) to deliver gorgeous Mother’s Day Bouquets from local flower farmers Lily Farm. The past three months have been tough for many of our producers, particularly for primary producers who are currently harvesting produce they planted well before any of us had even heard of corona virus. The drastic changes in supply channels, wholesale orders and other factors have meant that many of our producers have been unable to sell the produce they have grown.
This weekend we have come up with a creative way to help Lily Farm sell as many of their flowers as possible, right here in Launceston, for Mother’s Day. Rob, Louise and their family have curated some gorgeous bouquets which you can buy at our online market for delivery or click and collect this Saturday, ready for the big day on Sunday! The team at TBUG have kindly offered to delivery any bouquets in the local area with proceeds from the delivery fee being donated to The Benevolent Society.
Harvest online farmers’ market also enough delicious treats to full a Mother’s Day hamper. Modo Mio Naked has tempting chocolate offerings, The Tea Equation has teas for all occasions which will add that extra touch to a box of treats from Delicious Little Things. There are many other temptations from Tasman sea salt and freeze-dried blueberry gift packs to A pinch of Tasmania gourmet finishing salts. Rocky Gardens, Vix Kitch and Taste of TamO’Shanter have a wonderful selection of jams, preserves and pickles to choose from.
Visit your local online farmers’ market and be tempted to treat your mum or any other mother figures in your life!
