@ Harvest | 27 November, 2021

Normally we would drop some profound statement or pun into the opening line of the weekly newsletter. But with the sunshine lately (a significant improvement on most of spring) puns and profundities escape us. We can think only of the amazing food and beverage at our fingertips, and all the delicious meals we’ll be creating with them.

This brings us to the delicious news for the week. Making headlines is the irrepressible Willie from Seven Sheds. A Brewer, and Harvest’s resident joke teller and commissioner for nicknames, Willie is bringing you Three Black Cats: a limited edition, whiskey-barrel aged, blended dark beer. The result is, and we quote, “a potent and beguilingly decadent dark drop”. With only 207 bottles in the production run, you are going to want to get in quick and nab some!

Deliciousness abounds in numerous other ways this week, with Fork it Farm making their monthly appearance, Bruny Island Oysters are back after a bit of a horror run with the weather affecting their harvest, Plants Direct are back after a cheeky week off and the berry season is coming into full swing. Super exciting stuff all-round!

In sad news, however, it is the last week of the incredible Larry and Alison’s Real Beef for 2021, they won’t be back until the new year and we wish them all the very best for their time off 🥳. It’s also the last week for Heathermoor Peonies (super sad!).

Out and about, there are a number of EOY celebrations coming up. FermenTas are hosting their Sparkling Spring Dinner on Wednesday the 1st of December at Stello, and Clover Hill is hosting the Champions of Tourism Awards on Thursday the 9th of December. Both promise to be super fun evenings surrounded by Tasmania’s best and brightest of tourism and hospitality. Follow the links for info and tickets!

The SOMA stage will be channelling the spirit of Ringo and the vibe of a rooftop in Savile Row with Beat Street taking to the stage a la 1969! Get back into your yellow submarines and give peace a chance at Harvest! Imagine. OK, we’re done now.
