Festive Puddings and Pies at Harvest | 19th December 2020

Christmas starts at Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market this Saturday with fresh cherries, berries, puddings and pies.

Spare a “hot” thought for the bakers who are hard at work at their ovens creating fruity mince pies to add to their array of sourdough  loaves, pastries, cupcakes and brownies. Visit Modo Mio Naked for gluten free mince pies and brownies, while Delicious Little Things will be tempting taste buds with some delicious little treats and from cupcakes to macarons. Stock up on sourdough breads and pastries at Sandy’s and Apiece.

No festive meal is complete without a plum pudding and Annette at Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes has them in an assortment of sizes. For a different pie, try the cherry pies from All Things Cherry. Made from their own cherries, Regine has pefected the art of combining pastry and fruit to create the perfect end to a festive meal. Add some fresh cherries and your menu is complete.

Berries will be plentiful from Bioberries, Westerway Berry Farm and Sheffield Berry Gardens and do not forget the sparkle from Brady’s Lookout Cider, who specialise in creating a methode champenoise style apple bubbly. For a more traditional spirit, visit Wanderer Mead and Seven Sheds or try a gin from Metcalf Distillery with a dash of tonic from The Tasmanian Tonic Company.

The vibes on the Soma Community Stage will be provided by The BusCuz and Fergus Poynter.

The weather forecast is for some perfect conditions for Saturday morning market shopping, with scattered clouds and a maximum of 19º.

Our next market is 2nd January 2021.

Have a wonderful Christmas and festive season. There is NO market on 26th December and we look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year.
