Spice up your cooking this week with delicious Tasman Sea Salt and a selection of seasonings from A Pinch of Tasmania
Winter is all about your favourite roast and Strelleyfield Farm are there this week with their duck, Real Beef will have choice cuts perfect for a long slow braise. Mount Gnomon is the perfect stop for roast pork or delicious sausages and do not forget your breakfast bacon from Oldway Farm and Tamar Artisan Smallgoods.
Mulled cider has been drunk during the winter festivities at least as long as mulled wine and it is perhaps the descendant of a much older drink called wassail made from roasted apples that was knocked back by many in the south-west of England. The mulled version at Brady’s Lookout Cider uses a combination of their cider and Tasmanian fresh juice that has been prepared the night before to ensure that the alcohol is removed. They will also have some mulled spice packs to take home.
On the sparkling front, Brady’s Lookout Cider will release three new aged vintages at the market this week. The 2017 Wild and Premium ciders are made according to the methode traditionelle (also known as champagne method). For a different journey, taste their 1820s Blend cider, which is bottle conditioned. This means that the yeast is left in the bottle after fermentation resulting in a wilder tasting cider. A cider for those that prefer more of a traditional english style, it has a delightful aroma of apple along with delicate bubbles that form in the glass. There is length of fruit apple with a semi-dry finish.
The weather on Saturday will be partly cloudy with a maximum of 14 °, some morning fog and slight chance of rain in the evening.
We look forward to welcoming you back to celebrate our beautiful Tasmanian produce. Please remember to keep your distance and enjoy your goodies at home.
