This week at Harvest Launceston, the stallholders will kick of their raffle to raise funds for drought relief. Stallholders have contributed items to make up 2 gourmet “Harvest Hampers” valued at over $400 each. Tickets will be available at the market and a winner will be drawn at the final market in September.
Sheffield Berry Gardens returns to Harvest with frozen berries this Saturday and next.
The Three Fermented Queens and Afghan Bolani will be there for their fortnightly visits and Wanderlust will also return after a weekend off last weekend. Thirlstane Gardens will have their pea tendrils which are perfect to add a bit of zing to any dish. Della Valle Gelato will be at the market with their gold medal winning scoop flavours – Choc Hazelnut , Mocha Choc Chip swirl, Ginger and Cumquat as well as their famous Berry ripple and a range of dairy free options.
Delicious Little Things has baked some yummy apple cakes for market. Each cake contains a whole Lees Orchard apple! Try this with some ice-cream from Della Vale Gelato or cream from Elgaar or Tasmania’s Westhaven Dairy for a sumptuous treat. If apple is not what you’re after then be sure to try an angel cake.
Terra Preta Developments will be at the market with their “Frank’s Char” – a biochar made from various forms of “biomass” such as annual pruning material from their hazelnut orchard and neighbouring vineyards. The woody material that would otherwise be unused and wasted is turned into a valuable resource. Liquid manure is used to create the optimal nutrient enriched biochar ready for use as soil amendment and odourless fertiliser.
See you there – 8:30am-12:30pm every Saturday!
